Pollen Wise 5 and Our Commitment to You

We want to sincerely apologize for the issues some of you have experienced with the recent launch of Pollen Wise 5.0. We understand that this launch has not gone as smoothly as we would have liked; we hear you, and we promise that fixes and adjustments are in the works.

We’re Listening and Working Hard

Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and we want you to know that we are listening. Our entire team is working tirelessly behind the scenes to address the kinks, data loading issues and other technical difficulties that some users have been experiencing.

What We’re Doing

  • Troubleshooting Data Issues: Solving data loading issues is our top priority. We have a couple of leads we’re currently chasing down and hope to address it soon. We’ll update this blogpost with a version number when the fix becomes available. (Update: Please update your app version to 5.3.0 or later)
  • Next-Generation Forecasting: Some users have indicated they’re seeing all zeroes and expressing that it doesn’t feel right. And we agree! Our aerobiology team is looking into instances where our forecasting models seem off and are making adjustments as needed. This may take some time, so your patience is greatly appreciated. Pollen Wise 5 uses new forecasting and interpolation models that pull from the entire network of Pollen Sense Automated Particulate Sensors and integrates environmental factors like wind speed, temperature, humidity, and precipitation. Older versions of Pollen Wise only pulled data from the nearest monitoring site. This dependency meant that a monitoring site that experienced downtime meant a degraded experience for all users in that area. While our new modelling system has its rough edges at launch, we’re confident that it provides much more accurate, real-time, close-to-you information and in the long run will drive a better experience for all!
  • Re-evaluating our subscription tier strategy: With the launch of Pollen Wise 5, we made some adjustments to what is available on each of our tiers (Free/Plus/Elite). From our vocal fans who do not like that we have put some features behind paid tiers: we hear you! While we do not have any concrete plans to share right now, we will be continuing to gather feedback and will be making adjustments as needed. This may include temporarily giving more data to all tiers to give us time to make the long-term sustainable adjustments needed.

Your Patience is Greatly Appreciated

We know it’s frustrating when things don’t work as expected, and we truly appreciate your patience as we evolve into this new era of Pollen Wise. Our mission over the past five years has been to provide you with the most accurate and actionable pollen data possible, and we are still committed to doing so.

We will be working hard over the next few weeks to implement your feedback and ensure a seamless experience for everyone. Thank you for being a part of the Pollen Wise community. We can’t wait to show you what else we’ve been working on, including exciting upcoming features like Seasonality!

More from Pollen Sense

A clearer, more helpful Pollen Wise home screen

We’ve been spending a lot of time reviewing feedback, reading survey responses, and looking closely at how people are using Pollen Wise. One common thread amongst the feedback and survey responses stuck out: people want the app to feel easier to understand at a glance, and more helpful in answering the question, “What should I care about right now?” That thinking shaped this latest update. This is a major refresh to the Pollen Wise home screen, and while we know there is still more to improve, this update is an important step. We’re continuing to build, refine, and learn, and your feedback is a big part of what helps us decide where to go next.

Incoming: Branches, Revisions, and Layers

Update: The data cutoff for legacy metrics data was changed from March 11 to March 23, 2026 6PM UTC. Data before that date will continue to be available for the forseeable future, however data after March 23, 2026 6PM UTC will no longer be present either in the legacy portal data viewer or via v1 APIs. Please use the V2 APIs and the Branch/Revision-powered data viewer in the portal for live incoming data

LLMs vs CNNs: Why Physical AI Starts With Data Infrastructure

When we say “AI” at Pollen Sense, most people assume we mean LLMs. We don’t. When people hear that Pollen Sense is building AI data infrastructure, the default assumption is usually large language models, chatbots, text generation, or conversational AI. That’s understandable given the moment we’re in. But it’s not what we mean when we say AI. At Pollen Sense, AI data infrastructure means Physical AI, machine learning systems that directly observe the real world, classify physical signals in real time, and convert them into structured, trustworthy data that other systems can reason on.
